Encountering our deepest memories can be unsettling; this is what I tried to create with Narcotico, a personal, profound journey into the most hidden olfactory memories of my soul. Narcotic tells, through a journey to Palermo, a city of a thousand contrasts, among its alleys and churches. The spiritual journey of the soul, of my personal relationship with the Sacred.
The opening of the fragrance is strong, pungent, hauntingly angular, Frankincense and Thyme blend and open, slowly the doors to this sacred place, memory. The contrast continues endlessly, between the sweet notes of Tonka Bean, Benzoin and a floral accord, matured over time. Narcotico contains in its meaning a dedication to Pier Paolo Pasolini and Antonello da Messina, two souls who influenced my life, in that I returned to Sicily after so many years. The evolution of the fragrance gives us an unexpected welcome, the soul has found peace, has found its answers. An accord of Patchouli, Oud, Guaiac Wood, Vetiver and Labdanum, reminds us of the place where we often hide our soul, an old drawer forgotten in time. Returning to my homeland after so many years unsettled my spirit, telling all this through Narcotic gave answers to my questions.
[ Narcotic was conceived, created, and arranged, listening at each of these stages to the albums: The House of Pain and Static Memories of the Nenia ]
